On May 18th, the final of the 20th Edition of the Automobile Technology Olympics took place. The participants were the best students of mechanical schools selected in the previous stages of the competition. AS-PL was the sponsor of the event.
The finalists had two practical tasks to solve. First was about detecting the cause of failure of the 2.0 TDI self-ignition engine equipped with a Common Rail injection tank mounted in a passenger car, where the user reported with a constantly on control "check engine" indicator. The second task concerned the detection of the cause of the fault in the active safety systems of a passenger car signaled by the indication lamps.
The competition was accompanied by a technical panel with speeches of experts on the subject of electromobility in the automotive industry. AS PL representative have talked about the possibilities of developing the company's offer with new products that will satisfy the market's needs. An additional value for young mechanics was the presentation of a typical alternator and starter damage.
At the end of the final, the organizers gave participants the prizes. The winner of the Olympics was Jakub Jezierski from “Zespół Szkół Samochodowych w Poznaniu” and in the team qualification the best school was “Zespół Szkół Technicznych i Ogólnokształcących w Jarosławiu”.
AS-PL founded prizes for the best students and the school that achieved the highest score. For participants, it was a lazy bag and Bluetooth speaker. The best school received a specially prepared cross-section set of the alternator and starter.
The event is organized by the “Wydawnictwo Komunikacji I Łączności” and the monthly magazine “Auto Moto Serwis”. The Olympic has a patronage of the Ministry of National Education. The event took place in the Robert Bosch headquarters in Warsaw and 12 participants took part in it.
